Polishing
Polishing is a process in which is wood floors are
cleaned and shined. Usually polishing is done with
the addition of waxing the wood floors. Polishing
and waxing wood floors is recommended in order to
preserve the wood's health and to protect finished
layer.
The floor is buffed using a soft buffing
pad. This is done in order to thoroughly clean the
floors.
Buffing is a way to clean wood floors not using any
detergents or water. After buffing the floor, the
wax is applied.
There are two types of floor wax which can be used
which are liquid wax and gel wax.
Gel wax is applied by hand and then worked into the
floor using a rag.
After the floor is completely waxed, it must be buffed
again in order for the wax to be absorbed into the
floor.
Polishing and waxing is an excellent way to get hard
wood floors to look new and shiny without going through
a complete refinishing process.
